Signs | 2024
From March 2023 to March 2024, I photographed every restroom sign I saw across 12 countries. I printed the 160 signs in chronological order to scale on vinyl and installed them in one of the most frequented hallways at the University of Rochester. The result encouraged people to notice iconographic patterns that reinforce gender stereotypes and exclude non-binary genders.
